It was a charity event, so each faculty member chose a charity they would be dancing for. I chose Hannah's Hope. It's the charity created by Mike and Mary Martinez on behalf of their 2 year old daughter, Hannah. Read her story here: hannahshope.org
The Martinez family even came out to cheer me on. It was the sweetest thing to see their smiling faces, red cards (red was my partner and I's color) and the bright neon yellow sign they made for me.
I had a lot of fun with the student ballroom dance team members this last month. They have been extremely helpful, patient and kind. My partner was amazing. He was so patient with me as sometimes, I would totally mix the steps up. Haha!
Ballroom dancing is something that has been on my bucketlist for awhile and I am so happy to cross it off my list. I think I will continue taking lessons though. If you haven't tried it, you should. It's a blast AND a great workout! My legs, abs, back and rear definitely feel it.
Here are some pictures from yesterday.........

My niece, Ella, supporting me and showing her Valpo pride, in Michigan.
A little blurry, but great form. :)
Oh yeah.........I won!! :) A percentage of the funds will go to Hannah's Hope. I'm glad I did them proud.

My trophy. So cute.

This is so awesome, so proud of you (as always)! I've always wanted to try some form of dancing like this but I am sooo not the coordinated type. lol But I could always use a good work-out... :)
