A friend of mine reminded me the other day that men have "fragile egos"
That's interesting....because women have fragile hearts.
What a big difference...
Men care more about their ego and women care more about their heart.
Definition of ego:
- egotism; conceit; self-importance: Her ego becomes more unbearable each day.
- self-esteem or self-image; feelings: Your criticism wounded his ego.
Definition of heart:
- the center of the total personality, esp. with reference to intuition, feeling, or emotion: In your heart you know I'm an honest man.
- the center of emotion, esp. as contrasted to the head as the center of the intellect: His head told him not to fall in love, but his heart had the final say.
- capacity for sympathy; feeling; affection: His heart moved him to help the needy.
- spirit, courage, or enthusiasm: His heart sank when he walked into the room and saw their gloomy faces.
While (some) men are out caring about their ego and what others think, women are out there trying as hard as hell to protect their hearts from being broken.
The difference: women are cautious and men are suspicious.

Red Flags
Red flags are the warning signs that appear in a friendship, a relationship or a situation.
How do you read these red flags?
I've been known to ignore them...bad habit.
I always want to believe the best in people.
I never want to admit that someone is wrong for me or something isn't right.
I'm totally that girl who wants her happily ever after in life.
Even in friendships red flags can go up.
A one-sided friendship, a manipulative friendship, or a distant friendship.
I've experienced all of these...in both friendships and relationships.
It's always funny how friends and family try to warn you or point out these "red flags", but we choose to ignore them until it's too late...
How do you stop from repeating past mistakes?
Pick up on those red flags someone has told me.
But do you go your whole life waiting for those red flags to appear? Constantly comparing your past to the present?
How are you supposed to move forward if you're always looking backward?
I'm young and still learning.
No one is perfect, and I've come to realize and understand that.
Red flags or not, the one thing you can rely on is your instinct.
Trust your instinct and your heart.
If you make a few mistakes and misjudge a person, situation or relationship along the way...learn from it, forgive yourself and move on.
You never know...some red flags might actually be "green flags"...

This Woman Needs...
I love this song...it was my inspiration for today's blog entry.
What does this woman need?
I'm a simple woman.
To be happy.
I want life to be a little less complicated. I know it will never be easy.
To be loved.
True love is a rare and beautiful thing.
I hope to experience unconditional love with the one God intended for me to spend my life with.
To feel free.
Released of the past, mistakes and regrets.
No one is perfect. Nothing in life is perfect.
It's those imperfections that help us grow and move forward.
Marilyn Monroe said it best...
I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you learn to appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself...and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Some amazing women....
Lucille Ball...
"Ability is of little account without opportunity."
"I have an everyday religion that works for me. Love yourself first, and everything else falls into line."
"I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done."
"In life, all good things come hard, but wisdom is the hardest to come by."
"The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age."
Mary Tyler Moore...
"Take chances, make mistakes. That's how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave."
"Sometimes you have to get to know someone really well to realize you're really strangers."
"You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you."
Jennifer Aniston...
"A relationship isn't going to make me survive. It's the cherry on top."
"Don't rely on men but don't shun them either."
"I always say don't make plans, make options."
"I love that feeling of being in love, the effect of having butterflies when you wake up in the morning. That is special."
"The best smell in the world is that man that you love."
"The greater your capacity to love, the greater your capacity to feel the pain."
"There are no regrets in life, just lessons."
"True love brings up everything - you're allowing a mirror to be held up to you daily."
"When someone follows you all the way to the shop and watches you buy toilet roll, you know your life has changed."
Reese Whitherspoon...
"Many people worry so much about managing their careers, but rarely spend half that much energy managing their LIVES. I want to make my life, not just my job, the best it can be. The rest will work itself out."
"I think women are natural caretakers. They take care of everybody. They take care of their husbands and their kids and their dogs, and don't spend a lot of time just getting back and taking time out."
Kate Hudson...
"Honesty will never break you."
Marilyn Monroe...
"Before marriage, a girl has to make love to a man to hold him. After marriage, she has to hold him to make love to him."
"I don't know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot."
"I don't mind living in a man's world as long as I can be a woman in it."
"It's often just enough to be with someone. I don't need to touch them. Not even talk. A feeling passes between you both. You're not alone."
