the fall

Allow yourself to...

...feel love

...be loved

...experience love

...fall head over heels in love

It can be scary and nerve-racking, but...

love is a beautiful thing and worth the risk.

There are a lot of life lessons through love...whether good or bad.

Go ahead. Jump in. Embrace. Believe. Trust. Enjoy.

Tartan High Heels

I LOVE these heels!

I think a good pair of shoes really sets your attitude for the day. I woke up with a smile on my face and have been in the best mood all day. Busy day, but a great one.

These heels are my favorite, because they remind me of two things:

1) my Scottish roots
2) my alma mater, Alma College

I am looking forward to Alma's homecoming this weekend. These heels really jump-started my Scottish alma mater weekend a couple days early. I am so excited to go back and visit. I am looking forward to....

- my sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma
- catching up with old friends & professors
- Pizza Sam's
- Petticoat breakfast
- Scottish kilts
- the town (I love it)
- spending time with my family

failure

"Failure is not an end, it is a springboard into an opportunity to try again" (R.T.)

I borrowed this quote from one of my students. He is wise beyond his years and has such a good head on his shoulders. I truly admire him and his determination in life.

believe

If you dare to believe the invisible, God will do the impossible. ~Osteen

cherish each and every moment...

Life can be taken from you in a minute so it's very important to cherish each and every moment. Say I love you when you are given the chance and give a hug to someone in need. Even when your enemies try and bring you down, kill them with a smile and the sincerest of kindness. Anger is not worth fighting for.

I certainly needed this yesterday. Thanks S.J.Wilson for posting.

In life, you will come across people who want to bring you down. I struggle with this as I try to make everyone happy and I hate when people are upset with me or don't like me.

But, that is life. You won't be friends with everyone you meet.

I have learned that not everyone's morals, values, likes/dislikes, interests and personalities are exactly like mine.

I know and believe that I am a kind person...a good person...and I refuse to let negative and mean people bring me down.

For those I love and care about will receive my attention and energy.

Like the quote states, "anger is not worth fighting for..." I have forgiven those who have done me wrong and I am no longer angry. I am at peace with my life and who I am.

today...

Today I realized I haven't written anything in awhile directly from me. It has been a lot of quotes and songs. I have a tendency to do that when I have a lot on my mind, but don't know how to put everything into words. So, today, it's just me.

Today was extremely busy. Work at this time...in the fall...is exhausting. Here's a fun pic from my most recent travels for work....

Yesterday I was driving through southern Indiana on my way to Cincinnati, OH.

My immediate thoughts seeing this pick-up truck with a huge pumpkin in the back were...

They sure do grow 'em big down here in southern Indiana. And...this was quite the pumpkin pickin' adventure.

I was in the car for probably a total of 10 hours yesterday. Yikes. I was crabby and exhausted by the time I got home last night. But I do enjoy driving in the car alone sometimes. It gives me time to think, sing at the top of my lungs, check out new scenery, and catch up with family and friends on the phone.

I thought about what I'm going to do with my life. Isn't that what everyone ponders about when driving alone in the car? :)

What are my plans after I finish my masters? Where would I like to live? Where would I like to work? When will I finish my masters? It's difficult to imagine where your life will be a year and a half from now, because things don't always happen the way you think. I have certainly learned you can only plan so much.

I've tried to not think so far in advance about my life. I figure, why try to plan that far ahead?

I've learned to enjoy each day as it comes...to be thankful for what I have...and to appreciate the little moments in life.
