I think it's interesting that young people are so open to love.
They are fearless.
A few years ago, I found a box full of old notes from boyfriends from when I was a teenager.
This was obviously before texting.
Reading those notes made me realize how men change as they get older.
As men age, the romantic side of them slowly disappears or is barely there anymore (this might not be the case with all men).
I have come to the conclusion that men become afraid of love as they get older.
I'm not sure why.
Maybe because of heart ache, disappointment, guilt or failed relationships.
Some men are emotionless...showing little to no affection.
As women get older, the search for a fairytale love and romance doesn't go away.
The things these teenage boys wrote were beautiful...
like something from a movie...
almost poetic....
Maybe as teenagers, we have the "Romeo & Juliet" mentality when it comes to love.
It's those simple words that can prove to be so beautiful.
Like "I miss you" or "I love you".
Some women like to be wooed with sweet loving words.
Obviously, the way to any man or woman's heart is going to be different, but some form of romance never fails.
Some might say teenagers don't know anything about true love...
they're careless...
it's just "puppy love"...
Maybe that's true.
They don't know much about love yet, but they go into relationships fearless and open to the possibilities of love.
As adults, we shy away and are guarded...we sometimes miss those opportunities.
Today's "love letters" are in the form of text messages and emails.
When was the last time a woman received a poem or a real love letter?
I think we, as adults, should take a lesson from teenagers and be more open to love.
Stop guarding your heart and just go with it.
Allow love to happen, rather than analyzing every little thing the other person says or does.

This is SO true... I have a quote.. you know I LOVE them.. it says.. "Its not that I don't want to believe in the magic of love, but too much has happened before to make believe it doesnt exist." and I am 100% guilty of this.
