We welcomed a new baby to our family (well, Matt's family). His sister-in-law gave birthday last Monday, July 18 to a baby girl, Hadynn Victoria. She was just a tad over 5 lbs. This is their third child...Hadynn makes 3 GIRLS. Wow! Matt's brother, Mike, is sure lucky....surrounded by 4 beautiful ladies.
She has two big sisters, Haley (4) and Hannah (2). Haley is so excited to have another little sister to play with. I truly admire Mary and Mike. Their second daughter, Hannah, had suffered brain damage during the pregnancy and continues to struggle today. You can read their story about Hannah here: http://www.HannahsHope.org/. These two are amazing parents and a wonderful couple. They have remained strong, patient and faithful.
I love Haley and Hannah as if they were my own nieces. I was thrilled when I heard Mike and Mary were pregnant with a third child.
I was so excited to finally see Hadynn and hold her. She is the smallest baby I've ever held. It was amazing. With every new baby that is born in my life...friends and family, the more I long to have one of my own. "Some day," I keep telling myself.

Holding Hadynn gave me a different feeling. Maybe it was because of her size. It was like holding a little miracle. I instantly fell in love with her and didn't want to stop holding her. She just rested in my arms. Even changing her diaper and hearing her little whimpers, melted my heart. It made me happy to know I was able to quickly soothe her.
I felt that much closer to being a mother. I know . . . strange. I have always wondered if I'll have that motherly instinct when I have children of my own. I felt a little bit of that holding Hadynn.
