Valentine's Day...single

My first single girl Valentine's Day in years.

Can I just skip today?

I've realized that this "holiday" is only fun for couples.

I used to get so excited for Feb 14.

Picking out the perfect card...

enjoying a romantic dinner....

making chocolate covered strawberries (my favorite!).

For me, this used to be simply a day to celebrate love and your significant other.

This year, it is a day to celebrate my friendships.

I am blessed with wonderful friends and family.

Today, I celebrate my love for them.

Breaking up is hard to do

Break-ups suck...plain and simple. No one likes to be the dumper or the dumpee. This post is simply to entertain. Enjoy.

Top 10 starting break-up lines:

1. We need to talk.
2. It's not you, it's me.
3. I don't deserve you.
4. Do you remember when I've said everything is alright?
5. You are like a sister/brother to me.
6. I think we would be better friends.
7. I don't love you anymore.
8. Any man/woman will be lucky to have you.
9. Have you always been so boring?
10. Give me back my keys.

Some funny...typical...off-the-wall break-up lines:

1. "You're too young for me. I mean, too old. We're the same age? Well, that doesn't work for me either."

2. "This just isn't for me. Nothing personal. I want to be able to tell people I'm single."

3. "I put 3,000 miles on my car since meeting you!"

4. "I need to see other people to prove to myself that my love for you is genuine."

5. "You are the only good girl I've ever met, I will probably never meet anyone like you again. You are real marriage material. If we stay together, we will get married in a few years, BUT I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to one person."

Bittersweet

Today is a bittersweet day in my life...

Thursday photo...

A tradition in my family....arm wrestling.

My brothers arm wrestle every time we all get together as a family.

I don't even try anymore. Ha ha!

No woman wakes up saying, "God, I hope I don't get swept off my feet today!"

From the movie, Hitch...

"Basic Principles - no woman wakes up saying "God, I hope I don't get swept off my feet today!" Now, she might say "This is a really bad time for me," or something like "I just need some space," or my personal favorite "I'm really into my career right now." You believe that? Neither does she. You know why? 'Cause she's lying to you, that's why. You understand me? Lying! It's not a bad time for her. She doesn't need any space. And she may be into her career, but what she's really saying is "Uh, get away from me now," or possibly "Try harder, stupid," but which one is it? 60% of all human communication is nonverbal, body language; 30% is your tone, so that means 90% of what you're saying ain't coming out of your mouth. Of course she's going to lie to you! She's a nice person! She doesn't want to hurt your feelings! What else she going to say? She doesn't even know you... yet. Luckily, the fact is that just like the rest of us, even a beautiful woman doesn't know what she wants until she sees it, and that's where I come in. My job is to open her eyes. Basic Principles - no matter what, no matter when, no matter who... any man has a chance to sweep any woman off her feet; he just needs the right broom."

Ummmm, did you get all that guys?

This article will give you some helpful ideas for every stage of a relationship.

Since I'm not in one, this article doesn't really apply to me, but I thought I'd share it anyway.

Funny. Yes. But seriously, I'd be asking, "where are the other 11 roses?!"

A Single Girl's Valentine's Day

What do most single women do on Valentine's Day?

Go out and hate on the holiday, men and everything love with their other single girl friends.

Who says martinis, a chick flick and men bashing isn't a good time?

Forget the mushy couples at fancy restaurants and movie theaters across the country on Feb 14.

I don't hate the holiday.

I love love.

I'm not bitter - just not looking forward to a day that celebrates romantic love.

My Valentine's Day this year won't consist of flowers, dinner out gazing into the man I love's eyes, holding hands, kissing under the stars, blah, blah, blah....

Instead, it will more than likely be a typical single girl's Valentine's Day.

Friends. Drinks. A chick flick. Valentine's Day-love-men hating. Oh yeah, and drinks.
