Young Wisdom

I had a wonderful conversation today with one of my students.

Who knew a 22 year old could offer so much wisdom?

In learning about my personal situation, this student reached out to me.

He said some very kind and inspiring words that really made me think.

I have such a great support system in my friends, family, co-workers and students.

Through all the cards, messages, phone calls, and hugs...I have been able to stay strong and move forward in my life.

They have all given me something to look forward to again.

From tears to laughter, this student truly touched my soul today.

He said, "Nicole, you're a beautiful woman...you won't be on the market for long. When you see a guy that looks like a hot mess though, sprint in the other direction."

I couldn't help but laugh.

He went on to say....

"You need to completely release him from your life, Nicole. It's then that you will be able to love and trust again. The next lucky is going to have to earn your love and trust...and I mean really earn it. But don't punish the next man for what the past man has done to you."

"Women...when they love...they love hard," he said.

That is so true.

It amazes me that a 22 year old young man can realize this, but some men never do.

If men should know anything about women, it is that they are delicate and extremely passionate about love and the ones they love.

At the end of our conversation today, this student asked me if he could take a moment to pray with me.

This was very unexpected...it really touched my heart.

I am truly blessed and so thankful for all the supportive people I have in my life.

Some of the best advice I've received has been from my students.

I've learned that wisdom has no age.
