Tonight is my student leadership team's dinner with me in town.
I can't believe that graduation is less than 2 weeks away. I am going to miss this group. They are the reason why I love my job so much. I have watched these kids grow over the last 4 years here at VU and now they are graduating from college, getting married, going to grad school, getting jobs, moving to the big city, volunteering overseas...
Where does the time go?
I have a feeling I won't be able to hold it together this year at commencement. I am watching my first class I recruited to VU graduate. I am going to be a mess. I admire these kids. They motivate me to keep going on my worst days, make me laugh, challenge me, and bring me coffee just because. These students have touched my heart and my life. I am so proud of them.
One of my favorite quotes...
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain
Graduation is May 15.
