The new series at my church is about time management. A great series for someone like me who is often seen eating lunch (a sandwich or an apple) running across campus on the way to a meeting and grocery shopping on my lunch hour. I don't think I'm bad at managing my time, I just have a lot going on. Grad school part time and working full time = a crazy schedule. I am hoping this series teaches me to spend more time doing the things I love, rather than only work and school stuff. I need to learn to breathe, relax, spend more time with friends and family, even if it means sacrificing a couple hours of studying. Life is too short to do just the necessary stuff.
The question the series challenges us to answer is...
What am I doing with my time?
Too often we ask how ourselves, where did all the time go? There just never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything we want to get done or do.
We should be living, rather than just going through the motions of life. In Him, we will find our purpose for our lives.
The prayer posted in the bulletin for this week:
"Heavenly Father, teach me to number my days that I might gain a heart of wisdom and fulfill your purpose for my life."
